What is the weight of a specific Ford engine? If you own a ford, want to own a ford, or are in the process of swapping the engine, this is, of course, a relevant question. We’ve compiled 42 of the most popular Ford engines produced between 1961 and today in this blog.
In the table below, we’ve done our best to sort these engines in alphabetical order. Furthermore, we’ve included the weight of the engine in pounds and the years in which the engine was produced. Finally, we also added notes about the weight of the engine and how it was weighed.
Let it be clear that some engines have a fully dressed (including all accessories) weight, whereas others have only a long block weight (installation ready but without some accessories). We added as many notes as we could.
Weight Of Engine Per Type
In the table below, we’ve outlined all 42 engines we’ve research. However, there are, of course, a few top-rated models. We’ve created a summary for those engine types that you can read before going through the table.
- A Ford 5.0 Coyote produced between 2011 and present weighs 444 pounds without accessories.
- A Ford 289 or 302 V8 produced between 1963 – 1967 weighs 460 pounds. The late 5.0 models are slightly lighter.
