When To Change The Oil Of A Dodge Dart?

The Dodge Dart is equipped with an engine oil indicator system that alerts you when an oil change is scheduled. The oil change interval is based on your driving style. Thus the intervals may fluctuate depending on the use of the vehicle. The system indicates a scheduled oil change by sounding a single chime followed by the message “Oil Change Required”. This message flashes for 10 seconds on the EVIC display.

The oil change should not exceed 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or twelve months, whichever occurs first. Change the engine oil at 4,000 miles (6,500 km) if the vehicle is operated in a dusty and off-road environment.

How To Check The Oil Level Of A Dodge Dart?

The oil level should be checked regularly, such as at every fuel stop. To improve the accuracy of the oil level readings, check the oil level when the vehicle is on level ground and when the engine is hot (five minutes after a fully warmed-up engine is shut off).

To get the oil level readings, remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Place the dipstick back, then remove it to get the readings. The oil level should be maintained within the crosshatched zone, which marks a MIN at the bottom of the zone and a MAX at the top. Adding one quart of oil will result in a reading at the low end of the range to go to the top or complete end of the range.
